Chow Down: THis Week in Food Blogs l Restaurant Reviews l Pizza

Not to quote Winnie the Pooh or anything, but there?s a rumbly in our tummies and it can only be satisfied by some delicious cuisine. Brew food, barbeque?and a good old fashioned slice of pizza are all included in the redux of this week?s happenings in our favorite food blogs:?

When we heard that a place called Nimbus Bistro and Brewery had made its way to Scottsdale we immediately thought that it would be a great place for Harry, Ron and Hermione to hang out post grad from Hogwarts, but apparently the Tucson-based bistro has some street cred non-related to the world of J.K. Rowling and a pretty good menu to boot. Located on the corner of Scottsdale Road and Indian School in the spot that previously housed Taberna Mexican Grill, Nimbus boasts a large patio, 24 beers on tap and a killer happy hour according to Chow Bella. Read all about it here.

Beer and Barbeque are two of life?s greatest joys and Chandler is bringing them together in the form of The Great American Barbeque and Beer Festival this Saturday from 12-8 pm. EaterAZ rightfully titled the post ?Cows and Pigs are Scared of Chandler? as there will be over 30 different vendors and live entertainment luring in the crowds to chow down on some delicious meat. Tickets are available online at chandlerbbq.com so round up the troops and get down with your bad bbq self this weekend.

You always hear that pizza is good even when it?s bad, but we beg to differ. Sometimes, pizza is really bad. Sometimes, the wait for a ?really good? pizza is so long the starvation and build up makes you think you are eating the most amazing thing that has ever passed between your lips, which is why we always assumed people lined up outside Slices after a night out. Turns out, the pizza is good when you?re sober, too according to a recent review on AZ Central by Mouth by Southwest writer, Jess Harter. After reading the review (and eating there a few times), we concluded there is nothing complicated about the restaurant or the food. You have your basic pies and a few surprised (like the salad pizza) and then fountain drinks to wash it all down. It?s perfect for those late nights or a rushed lunch and it will bring a little bit of New York by way of Boston pizza pie to your day.

Until next week, keep it real, my friends.
