Los Angeles Conservatory ? Making a Life in the Arts

A Los Angeles conservatory program is a two year program instead of a four year program like a bachelor?s degree. It is a suitable option for those people who have good experience in what they want to do, but would like to hone and enhance their craft to the point of refinement. You can go for acting, the musical theatre, the performing arts or the dance theatre. Where the art of acting is concerned, the Los Angeles conservatory program will help to enhance your skills as an actor and train you so that you can become a professional in the truest sense of the world, and be able to act both on screen and on stage.

In the first year of the Los Angeles conservatory program, students will be taught how to develop techniques that help them to get into the entire mode of acting and to make it all seem real. Individual work is focused on sharply in the first year and techniques have to be perfected. In the second year the application of the developed techniques is the main focus and students get to perform audition pieces. It is the same for the musical theatre, dance theatre and performing arts conservatory programs.

Of course it is true that such programs can cost a great deal of money and this is a deterrent for many people. The good news however is that most Los Angeles conservatory programs offer a financial aid package to eligible students. This can be in the form of either gift aid or self-help aid. Gift aid refers to grants and scholarships which is money that doesn?t have to be paid back. Self-help aid, on the other hand, means loans and work. By work is meant part-time jobs that students can get to pay back their respective loans.
